Our first ever Recital Night was a smashing success!!! Students and parents left feeling enthusiastic and inspired. The string department has had many requests for students to switch from pair to private lessons. Thanks to parents, students, tutors, and crew for helping to create a wonderful experience for all involved.

Inspired by a documentary which showed the plight of millions of Cambodian children, Peter Knight, Year 11 student from Shearwater Steiner School, grabbed the opportunity to go Cambodia during the July holidays. He has never left Australia before this.

Congratulations to the organisers, participants and sponsors of the Shearwater Walkathon held last Sunday 23rd May 2010. It was a huge success.

Slow down, you move too fast!
A 5 mph limit applies in school grounds, and very few drivers observe it!
Please take care in the car park, and SLOW DOWN!
Extra caution is needed when children alight from the car, and when crossing the carpark!!
Please do not use the set down area for parking, drivers must stay with their cars.

Walkathon- Sunday 23nd May 2010
A beach walkathon with the school community at 10am from Tyagarah Beach to the Brunswick Heads river with a celebratory ending at the park in Brunswick. An approximate time of 2 hours to complete the walk and accompanied by low tide time will allow those with younger children more opportunity to be involved. Last week I went to Regionals, held at Fingal Head. We walked the track first, to get to know it. The track was more confusing than I knew it would be. There were lots of crossroads and changes in the track, like running across the beach, up sand dunes, through forests and on the road.
